Some might equate bowling with bad footwear, but we enjoy it because it brings together families and friends of all ages for some (indoor) active fun.
We also groove to the new concept of glow-in-the-dark bowling. That’s where the regular lights get dimmed, and disco lights and music combine for a ‘cosmic’ experience (totally rad).
North Shore Bowl is hip to the trend and is a great place to take the kids on a rainy weekend afternoon. If you have beginner bowlers, be sure to ask for bumpers on the lanes to avoid too many gutter balls. Then sit back and watch the tikes score some spares and strikes!
Kids love this place for celebrating birthdays because of the unique glow party room. Moms love it because the food set-up and clean-up are included in the price.
The same kind of retro revival is in full swing at Varsity Ridge Bowl in Vancouver where the fluorescent glow gets everyone in a good mood. They also host birthday parties, and even have a bowling league for kids ages 4 to 14.
