There is no magic recipe to creating happy and confident kids, but if your kids need a bit of a learning boost, some innovative programs offered by two local mom-entrepreneurs might go a long way to making them feel on par with their peers.
West Coast Speech and Language Pathology founder and mom, Janine Baker is now offering some group social and communication skill development programs for children from preschool to grade seven. Janine has been running West Coast Speech and Language Pathology for over six years now, and this past year, she and her team added group programs to her therapy sessions. The programs cover a variety of communication issues from speech, language, social behaviour, emotional awareness and problem-solving skill development. Some programs have a set number of classes, while others are dependent on the child’€™s individual progress. The group setting not only allows for the costs to be reduced ($80/session), but also allows the children to practice their new social skills and learn from each other. Winter groups start on January 3 and will run until June. The timing is good as new client intake consultations (free of charge) are being held over the next few weeks to ensure registration is complete by mid-December.
