Puddles or pools, most kids can’t resist a good splash. So it only makes sense that we search out some of the top indoor swim spots for them to get wet this winter. It’s not quite the tropics, but they’re closer to home!
The new kid on the block and a must-see is the beautiful Hillcrest Aquatic Centre. Built as an Olympic legacy project, its large leisure pool is decked out with tons of water sprays and jets making it perfect for tiny tots. There’s also an awesome lazy river and three diving boards. Good to Know: The word is getting out on this one so try to avoid peak hours!
Out at the Ladner Leisure Centre, the kids can splash around the shallow end with water toys and even get their very own ‘mini-slide’. Older kids (and daring moms) will want to try the ‘Cliff Hanger’ climbing wall and the two bigger waterslides.
Also boasting a slide is the West Vancouver Aquatic Centre, where a wall of windows makes it airy and bright on even the darkest days. Its bubble water features, water curtain and lazy river kick up the fun factor. The unique ozone and chlorine purifying system make it a good bet for those with skin and eye sensitivities.
