For most of us, summer is about getting outdoors and creating great family memories. But not every Lower Mainland family is lucky enough to share the same opportunities, which is why we’ve found some creative children’s charity fundraising programs that help you spread some of your good fortune while still enjoying all that summer has to offer.
Grind for Kids
This brand new fundraiser in support of BC Children’s Hospital is running until September 15 and is great for active families with children seven years of age and older. Grind for Kids is simple: you organize your family hiking excursion up the Grind as per usual, register online or at the mountain ($20 registration fee), and then get your friends and family to pledge your excursion ($1 or more/hike).
The Grind is probably a two-hour hike with kids, and at the top there are a myriad of family activities available. Head down the gondola for a cost of $10/person or buy an annual family pass for $189.95 before July 18 ($199 thereafter).
