Today, the first day of school for the majority of Calgary kids, is a pretty big deal for parents of school-aged children. For those of us with children too young to partake in this annual September ritual, there are still lots of opportunities to participate in lifelong learning.
The new school on the block is none other than go-to baby and toddler store Bo Bébé. The launch of their brand new education programming for new parents takes place September 21 at four locations (Westhills, Crowfoot Village and Crowfoot Terrace). The first two courses being offered are Cotton Diapering and Car Seats/Strollers (the basics of buying and using). These classes cost $29 and $39 respectively for two people. Future classes will cover family and child CPR.

Babes in Arms is a small, locally owned store located in Mayfair Place (Glenmore and Elbow). They sell a variety of good-for-mother-earth products, including cloth diapers and slings and they’re happy to teach you how to use both. Their next Babywearing 101 class runs September 6. Cloth Diapering 101 follows on September 11. Classes cost $10 or are free for members.
