Makes 4-6 Turkey Burgers
Turkey Burgers with Avocado & Hummus Recipe:
You’ll Need
- 1 lb lean ground turkey
- 1 egg
- 1 heaping tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1/4 cup finely crumbled feta cheese
- 1/4 cup bread crumbs
- 2 tbsp finely chopped parsley
- 1 tsp each sea salt and pepper
- 6 hamburger buns
- Toppings: 1-2 avocados, peeled, pitted, and thinly sliced, 1-2 tomatoes, thinly-sliced, 6 romaine heart leaves, 1/2 cup store-bought hummus
Prep and Cook
- 1Place turkey, egg, Dijon, feta, breadcrumbs, parsley, salt, and pepper in a large bowl
Using your hands, gently fold all the ingredients together until they are evenly mixed (but do not overwork!)
Shape into 4 to 6 1/2-inch (1 cm) thick patties and transfer to a parchment-lined baking sheet - 2Using your thumb, gently press an indent into the center of each patty
Cover and place in fridge until ready to cook
Preheat a grill or grill pan to medium-high heat
Grill burgers, covered, turning once, until no longer pink inside, about 8 - 10 minutes per side (times will vary depending on the thickness of the burgers and the temp of your grill
The internal temperature should be at least 165F when taken with a thermometer in the thickest part of the burger) - 3Slice buns in half
Top with cooked burgers, tomato, avocado, romaine hearts, and hummus
