Iron Horse Park
Iron Horse Park in Airdrie is a 'must see' if you've got locomotive lovers in your house. Hop on a miniature train and follow the 1.6 km track as it chugs through the small park, which includes hillsides, valleys, ponds, bridges and tunnels. There's a little history there as well—as one of the friendly engineers will tell you, Iron Horse Park's railway was designed to represent the Canadian Pacific Railway track from Calgary to the coast of BC. Good to know: The park is open every Sunday from 11 am to 4 pm until Thanksgiving, as well as having an annual 'Halloween Run' and a 'Frostbite Run' on Family Day in February, complete with hot chocolate.
