Where to Take the Kids to Ride a Train in Calgary

Located just south of Calgary in Aspen Crossing, there's a few ways to enjoy the 3-4 hour round-trip train rides at Aspen Crossing Railway. Our favourites are the Circus Train ride, which includes face painting and on-board circus entertainment, the Meals in the Field option which offers an outdoor lunch and a grain elevator tour, and the Train of Terror: a special Halloween ride with haunted railway cars, 'disturbing' entertainment and a Halloween party at the end. (Hint: this might not be the best option for really young ones!) Also, beginning November 24 and running on select dates until Christmas Eve, kids can ride the Polar Express, complete with carols, hot chocolate, and yes, the gift of a silver bell. Cue the feels.
