If you’ve made a life-long commitment to sustainability and reducing your footprint in this world, that doesn’t have to change when you have a baby. Hip Baby, a newly-opened store on Johnson Street, will help your babe look and feel eco-fabulous and play safely. And you’ll feel great knowing your family’s environmental creeds are kept intact.
The original Hip Baby has been open for 15 years on West 4th in Kitsilano. Victoria owners Mary and Philippe Lucas just opened up the Johnson Street store on April 3. Hip Baby features products for newborns to six year-olds that focus on sustainability and safety for playtime, mealtime, sleeptime, diapering and fashion.
The store is a great resource for parents who want to use cloth diapers but aren’t sure how to manage. Whether you decide to use cloth, bamboo or polyester, Hip Baby carries 10 different brands, and holds monthly workshops for new parents, caregivers and grandparents. When the diaper days are over, ask about the biodegradable potty for eco-toilet training.
