It’s tough getting through the winter when the weather is more neurotic than we are. Fear not, we have found a great product to keep you laughing (or at least smiling) through the rain and a new program to help you enjoy some light-hearted culture indoors with your family.
With the help of Cheeky Umbrella, you can now smile every time you open your personal shelter. Cheeky Umbrella was started by a North Vancouverite this past summer, and is quickly making umbrellas a fashion accessory. Owner Jen Zurowski creates umbrellas that are intended to make light of a dark day. The designs are fun and funky, with bright colourful patterns on black backgrounds, and each has a unique saying scrolled along the inside. Choose from such wit as “When does it start raining men?” or “It’s raining, it’s pouring, other umbrellas are boring”. We like that these umbrellas are made to stand up to the elements, with strong lightweight frames and fiberglass wind-resistant ribs and a slip-resistance hook handle that allows you to hang them on doorknobs when not in use.
Savvy Special: Cheeky Umbrella is offering SavvyMom readers 10% off the regular $40 price when you enter the code SAVVYMOM until January 30 at www.cheekyumbrella.com.
