Already missing the Canucks? Keep that sporting spirit alive at the Vancouver Canadians’ opening festivities this weekend, as the C’s kick their season off with five home games in a row (seriously, it’s June – it’s time to get off the ice).
The Vancouver Canadians’ minor league baseball franchise has been a fixture at Nat Bailey Stadium for years, but the news you can use is that this truly is a family fun place, perfect for young kids. Beyond the baseball game, there is a supervised children’s play area (for kids up to age 12), complete with bouncy castle, inflatable slide, obstacle course and baseball activities, where you can drop the kids off (after admission is paid) so you can watch the game. There is also a ‘Rookie Team’ program, which costs $25 for the season for one child (or $50 for a family) and includes admission to every Sunday and Monday home game during the season, a fast-pass for front-of-the-line privileges during Family Fun Sunday games, and a post-game option to ‘run the bases’ on Sundays or join in for a player ‘meet and greet’ on Mondays.
