Spring into This Break

The spring is truly in the break this year, with no snow in sight. But luckily Vancouver isn’t all about the mountains. There are plenty of activities to keep you—and more importantly, the kids—busy when school is out.

Put your hands up, and check out the Vancouver Police Museum’s CSI Training camp, where kids 8–13 years old will learn about everything from fingerprinting to forensics. It promises to be an arresting experience.

Whether it’s LEGO, Dr. Seuss or Cinderella, Chapters Indigo has something for every child during the week of March 16-20. We’re loving on the Dr. Seuss (extra silly) Storytime for the littles, and the LEGO Swapathon and Make-and-Take session for our budding engineers. The kids get unplugged and engaged in some creative play, and we’re big fans of that.

The Vancouver Aquarium’s Aquacamps are incredibly popular for little dolphin lovers aged 4-12. There are still spots available, but sign up soon to avoid disappointment.

For movies that will both fascinate and educate you, head to the H.R. MacMillan Space Centre. Its new feature is Dynamic Earth, which screens weekdays at 1 pm. It’s narrated by Liam Neeson (swoon), so his voice will engage you as much as the content.

This spring break, make use of Vancouver’s big-city amenities with programs and outings they won’t soon forget.

We’ve got 8 more ways to keep them busy all break long in our Spring Break in Vancouver: What to Do guide.
