March Break in Vancouver: 5 Ways to Get a Break

March Break can be a bit of a misnomer for moms, but fortunately we have a few tricks up our sleeve. Here are five ways for you to get a break this March.

Fun4Kidz is a gigantic indoor play structure, with locations in Park Royal Mall, West Vancouver and Aberdeen Mall, Richmond. You can drop your toddler there for up to two hours while you run important errands in the mall (nails, coffee…). For reduced rates, drop and shop on weekdays.

Go Bananas is a multi-level play centre in Capilano Mall, North Vancouver. They have a one hour drop and shop service for children between the ages of 4 and 12.

Local community centres offer drop-in child minding services for infants and toddlers. The Gleneagles Rainbow Room offers crafts, story times, and an outside playground. Caregivers can leave the facility while their child creates a masterpiece with macaroni.

Get bikini ready at a local gym. Many offer in-house childminding during your workout. The Dailey Method in Vancouver offers childcare for their 9:40 and 11:00 am classes, for children up to 10 years. Reserve your spot online.

Hello, date night, we’ve missed you since childbirth. UBC Gymnastics provides a parent night out. $25 buys your child two and a half hours of gymnastics while you remember what you like best about your spouse. The Art Pod Studio hosts Friday date nights from 6:30–8:30, and promises a different art project each week, as well as a movie and popcorn.

Because we believe that small, well-timed absences really do make your heart grow fonder, and yourself shine brighter.
