A day at the fair, without the threat of rain or sunburn? Sign us up. Canada’s largest indoor carnival, Playdome, is at BC Place March 14-22.
Something about the smell of mini-donuts and the sight of a Ferris wheel brings out the kid in us. And with no snow in sight, this is an excellent way of entertaining the troops during Spring Break. In fact, if your children are ride enthusiasts, consider buying the unlimited multi-day Dome pass to avoid those two words that make all parents shudder: ‘I’m bored.’
Good to know: Before you go, have a healthy breakfast—the fair is stocked with junk food like cotton candy and corn dogs—great for a treat but not exactly fuel for a busy day. And pack hoodies for everyone. It might be indoors, but we’ve found they’re needed. Doors open daily at 10:30 am, but if you get up and at ‘em and arrive before 11:30 am you’ll save $5.
Our kids keep us young at heart, so we’re embracing it and spending a day at the fair. Last one to the merry-go-round’s a rotten egg.
