It’s a must-do every year and a lovely family tradition. The music, the floats, and the anticipation of seeing the big man himself…we love it all. Here’s where to catch the man in red around town this holiday season.
New Westminster Santa Claus Parade: Saturday, December 5
New Westminster will be bringing the festivities into focus on the first weekend in December with a Santa Claus parade at 11 am followed by a day of Christmas fun in Downtown New West. The celebrations will culminate with the official tree lighting at Hyack Square.
The 12th Annual Rogers Santa Claus Parade: Sunday, December 6
This downtown Vancouver parade, starting at Broughton and Georgia Street, draws huge crowds every year. It begins at 1 pm but there will be family fun from 10:30 am in front of the Vancouver Art Gallery at the Coast Capital Christmas Square. You can drop off food donations and kids can get their faces painted, decorate gingerbread, and try their hand at balloon twisting. Plus there are dance and music stages, and a ‘Letters to Santa’ station. When the parade is finished, Santa Claus will be heading down to Robson Square ice rink, where kids can get a photo with the guy in red and enjoy some free skating.
We’ve found more parades in and around Vancouver—see the rest in our gallery of The Best Santa Claus and Christmas Parades in Vancouver.
