You don’t have to be a visitor to this great city to get excited about the brand new Sea to Sky Gondola in Squamish, so get it on that daytrippin’ list for spring.
Opening Friday, May 16, this awesome attraction wedged between the uber-popular Stawamus Chief and Shannon Falls, is much more than just a 10-minute gondola ride. It’s a new way to access a previously inaccessible area of Stawamus Chief Provincial Park. At the summit, there are spectacular views of Howe Sound and Garibaldi Park, several newly constructed hiking and walking trails suitable for all ages and fitness levels (wheelchair accessible too) and a breathtaking new suspension bridge called Sky Pilot. If you’re afraid of heights, relax in the small self-serve restaurant, aptly named Summit Lodge.
The Sea to Sky corridor offers lots of other great adventures too, including picnicking and biking at Alice Lake, touring and gold panning at the recently restored Britannia Mining Museum and eagle watching in Brackendale. Of course, there is plenty to do, see and eat in the town of Squamish too.
Don’t miss the big picture. Experience the Sea to Sky corridor’s new aerial views. It will make your kids proud to live here.
