Are your kids fascinated by American Ninja Warrior on TV? Turn off the tube and let them unleash their inner ninja at InjaNation. This newly opened Calgary facility sports a trampoline park, rock climbing gym and obstacle course—all under one roof.
Only one of two facilities in North America, children and adults venture from zone to zone burning off energy and exercising. The icing on the cake is staff supervise each area, so if caregivers don’t want to participate, kids are in good hands.
Caregivers only pay if they get on the equipment, but are free to watch and be right next to their kids. If you’ve got some freedom, mosey into the parent’s lounge and watch some TV. There’s also a business lounge with cubby holes should you want to bring your laptop. Free wifi runs throughout the facility.
In the climbing area you’ll find a few different walls to scale up. Adventurers are harnessed in and should they miss their mark, an auto belay feature gets them safely and slowly to ground.
The big draw is the ninja obstacle courses with swinging cylinders to cross, mini trampolines to bounce off of and punching bags to weave through. The military course has double lanes so you can race your friends over walls and attempt to tackle the tricky monkey bars. It’s a full workout for parents too!
Inside the trampoline park grip sox are required, so either bring your own or buy a pair on-site ($2.95). There’s a dodgeball trampoline area and even a separate little kid trampoline area with a foam bit. Don’t be surprised if kids make a bee-line to battle their friends with foam jousters on a padded balance beam in this area. It’s super popular.
Good to Know
All ages are welcome and there’s an enclosed ‘micro ninja’ area with padded walls and mats for toddlers or any babe at the crawling stage. Hungry? An on-site cafe dishes out sandwiches, pizza and pastries. Waivers are required and need to be signed online prior to your visit.
One hour general admission is $19.95. (Our brood was tuckered out after an hour and a half.)
Save money by visiting Monday to Thursday from 10 am to 12 pm for Mini-Ninja. The price drops to $10 for kids two to five-years and $15 for those six-years and older. On Friday nights a family of four can get admission drinks and a pizza for $80.
Bonus: InjaNation also hosts birthday parties and allows you to bring in all your own food. Heads up: registration for summer camps begins the last week of February.
