Brace yourself because it’s just about that time. September brings with it the end of summer (sigh) and the promise of a new year, new shoes and maybe a new haircut. You’re armed with your savvy back-to-reality checklist but you might need a few more tricks up your sleeve for the rest of this month. Here’s our savvy guide to September.
DO
Pack a picnic—and then go on one with your family
Why? Because the weather is still nice outside even if the official summer months are over. (And just in case you didn’t fit one in all summer, you still can.)
GO
See Lizards and Snakes: Alive! at the Ontario Science Centre
Why? Because there is an awesome exhibit with 55 live lizards and snakes from five continents…until September 7.

GET
A big family calendar
Why? Because it helps to have one central schedule that everyone can see—kids, parents and caregivers.
PLAY
Olly Olly Oxen Free
Why? Because it’s really a simple game of hide-and-seek but it’s fun to say the words. Just shout out “Olly Olly Oxen Free” when the person who is it finds someone and wants to call everyone home to start again.
