Kids are crafty. What about channeling that energy into a homemade gift for someone special this year?
The Paintlounge offers something only the bravest (craziest?) mothers allow at home: unfettered access to paints and a canvas. This hour of drop-in and drop-off fun for kids 5 to 13 also includes artistic instruction. Feel like sticking around during the class? The free Wi-Fi and lounge menu will keep you comfortable. Through December, they’re offering holiday-themed art classes.

Celebrated stylist Andrea Ford’€™s Re:Style Studio offers several opportunities this month for kids to go craft crazy. The early evening classes include creating a sweater stocking made from recycled sweaters, and an embossed gift-tags class. Or, kids can spend a sweet Saturday afternoon building an amazing pre-baked gingerbread house. Open for ages 7 to 12, registration is online.

Small hands can also get into the handmade game. Wise Daughters in-house button and magnet maker will allow younger members of the family to create something of their own. They can draw or stamp an image, and then help press it into a button or magnet to be boxed or bagged up for an adoring aunt or grandparent. Be sure to call to reserve a time in advance.
