No worries, we thought. It’s only October, we thought. There’s plenty of time to research and plan for the amazing concerts, ice skating shows, lavish musicals and other kid-friendly entertainment about to grace our fair city. But those tickets are on sale now and folks are already snapping them up (in other words…they’re going to sell out). So here they are—the best and most entertaining kid-friendly shows coming to Toronto this winter, so that you can look at a calendar and buy now.

Nancy Kerrigan’s Halloween on Ice: Oct 20, Hershey Centre
Why not celebrate Halloween all week long with this ice skating spooktacular event? Kurt Browning and Johnny Weir join Nancy Kerrigan for cool costumes and routines set to Halloween-themed music. Pretty amazing for the kid who loves Halloween.

Jacob Two-Two Meets the Hooded Fang: Nov 6–Dec 20, YPT
We read the book as kids. We saw the production as kids. And now we can take our kids to see the Intrepid Shapiro and the Fearless O’Toole, oh yah, and Jacob Two-Two as well, of course. Young People’s Theatre always does a bang-up job with their productions so book to see this one right away.

That holiday break is two weeks long and family shows are a great remedy for cabin fever and too much screen time.

So many great shows are coming to Toronto this winter, and we’ve handpicked the 13 best for you. See the rest of our picks here.
