Daniel Tiger is now in town at a new exhibit until January 5, 2020, and The Children’s Museum (a part of the Canada History Museum) is where you’ll find everyone’s favourite tiger!
Daniel Tiger’s Neighbourhood: A Grr-ific Exhibit welcomes kids into the imaginative world of Daniel Tiger and his friends. Families work together to solve problems and play along with Daniel’s singable lessons.
Watching Daniel Tiger on the CINE+ big screen
As part of your museum entrance, families can enjoy a 30 minute Daniel Tiger episode called Neighbour Day.
In this production, Daniel learns how good it feels to be neighbourly and that one kind act can lead to many. An act of kindness sets off a chain reaction around the Neighbourhood, leading to the declaration of “Neighbour Day”! Tickets are free, and there are various daily showtimes in both English and French.
Awesome Special Event: Meet Daniel Tiger!
One of the best parts of the experience is that kids can meet Daniel Tiger on one very special day! During select times, you can register to meet Daniel tiger at the Children’s Museum’s stage. This one-of-a-kind photo opportunity will delight all of his little fans and is happening only on December 8th during their Awesome Neighbours special event.
Here’s when you can meet Daniel Tiger on December 8:
10 to 10:15 am.
11 to 11:15 am.
12 to 12:15 pm.
Preregistration is required at the Children’s Museum Travel Bureau.
In addition to meeting Daniel Tiger (which we know will be the highlight of the day for many), kids can create a Daniel Tiger face and make a friendly neighbour button. Both of these events happen between 10 am and 4 pm.
There’s even more happening at the Children’s Museum
We’ve shared with you before why we love the Canada History Museum (and that list always includes the Children’s Museum), so while you’re there checking out the wonderful neighbourhood of Daniel Tiger, we also recommend you let the kids explore the rest of the Children’s Museum—and around the world. The hands-on exhibits and passport stops include an interactive boat, a food market, pretend shops, replications of homes from around the world and more. The experience is truly unique.
In addition, kids can explore the theatre, going behind the scenes, dressing for a part and taking centre stage. There’s a soundboard to create special effects too, so they can craft the perfect performance.
Plus, there are special events happening at the Children’s Museum and Museum of History all year long, including craft times and seasonal events.
Now is the time to check out the Children’s Museum though, because you won’t want to miss the Daniel Tiger Exhibit. It’s only here in Ottawa until January 5!
