From picking the perfect one to preparing the ultimate jack-o-lantern, the kids are pumped about pumpkins! Why not celebrate the season this season by visiting one of these pumpkin patches in Ottawa. Some of these locations offer other activities in addition to pumpkin picking, so it’s best to visit the website for their hours and admission rates. All of them are filled with pumpkins though!
Here are our favourite pumpkin patches in Ottawa…
Proulx Farms
At the Proulx Farm’s Pumpkin Festival, you can find your perfect pumpkin in their patch, or select the pumpkins of various sizes in their shop. But before you leave, you’ll want to check out the wagon ride, animals on the farm, mazes and fun slides.
Ottawa Tree Farm
Do you have a fall scene in mind to decorate your front door? Maybe some hay bales, corn stalks and lots of pumpkins? Ottawa Tree Farm in Stittsville has you covered! Whether you’re looking for those perfect, really BIG pumpkins or even the mini-ones to decorate your front steps for Thanksgiving or Halloween, they’ve got something for everyone. It’s open seven days a week! Plan to take a hayride while you are there.
Ouimet Farms
East of Ottawa in Vankleek Hill is Ouimet Farms. Along with their pumpkin patch, families will love the outdoor activities like the giant corn maze, jumping pillow and rock wall. Please note: They are open on weekends until October 23.
Miller’s Berry Farm
Include your family’s best friend in your pumpkin patch visit this year because friendly dogs on leashes are welcome at Miller’s Berry Farm located just south of Manotick. Hop on a wagon to ride out to the patch, where you’ll be able to pick your own pumpkins, squash, and gourds. Open seven days a week, there’s a corn maze to test your skill, and plenty of other fresh produce available to take home for a farm-fresh feast.
Maple Hill Urban Farm
Located right inside the city limits in the west end is Maple Hill Urban Farm. Be brave and dare to try their 7-acre Adventure Maze. There are other outdoor activities to enjoy, but you’ll want to check their schedule for more details.
Cannamore Orchard
While Cannamore Orchard will entertain your family with Halloween activities like their spooky wagon ride, stage shows, and more, you can also pick your own pumpkin in the patch (daily). There are a variety of sizes to choose from and it’s recommended you bring your own wagon or something to carry them in! Pumpkin picking is only available on weekends after Thanksgiving.
Saunders Farm
While their pumpkins are pre-picked for you and rounded up in one large location, you’ll love the size and colour variations when picking out the perfect carving pumpkin at Saunders Farm. Families can also enjoy their haunted wagon ride, barn of terror, stage shows, jumping pillows and other Halloween frights during the day, or at night for those who are ready to be really scared.
Log Cabin Orchard
Visit the 1840s Log Cabin Orchard for your pumpkin and photos located in Osgoode. It’s open seven days a week and offers a cozy outdoor experience with a bonfire, hot chocolate, apple cider, churros and other goodies.
Kiwan Farms
Kiwan Farms (Hawthorne Road) is open daily and has transformed for the fall into a pumpkin patch (and continues to be a farmers’ market). Shop for your pumpkin, take plenty of photos, and find some decorative gourds to help make your home festive.
