Social Eatery at TELUS Spark: A Fresh New Dining Space

As much as we enjoy taking our children on adventures to the city’s best attractions, being stuck with lacklustre food options isn’t something we look forward to. That’s why we’re thrilled TELUS Spark has revamped their food and beverage experience by bringing in Canadian celebrity chef Roger Mooking.

Social Eatery by Roger Mooking is a market concept dining space that’s fresh and bright, with plenty of natural light flooding in. Grabbing a bite has never been so much fun—especially when you situate yourself next to the Umbrella Mural Wall, a massive selfie station just begging you to share on social media. Chef Mooking is a parent himself, and understands just how finicky children can be with their food. Here, you’ll find plenty of options with a focus on fresh ingredients cooked from scratch.

The menu is home cooking with a global twist, inspired by Mooking’s travels. Family favourites include Cheese Buns made fresh daily with aged Canadian cheddar and the Stacked Sandwich—piled high with thinly sliced Alberta beef. We caregivers, however, are crushing on the Baby Kale Caesar Salad. Vegetarians and vegans have plenty of options, too. In a rush to get back to the exhibits at the science centre? Grab a smoothie (made fresh in house), granola bar or a yogurt.

If you have the time to linger, we recommend introducing your children to the condiment bar, where they can put as much of whatever they desire on their dish. Get them to expand their palate by taking a dab of chutney, chimichurri, Japanese mayo or tamarind. Parents will be thrilled to know there’s a coffee bar by Phil & Sebastian Coffee Roasters to help keep their energy strong.

Before leaving, take a moment to peruse the grab and go section. Stock up on some local honey, antipasto, cured meats and cheese, gluten-free cookies and Bob’s Red Mill oatmeal.

Social Eatery is open during TELUS Spark’s regular hours and also offers in-house catering services provided by CHARCUT Roast House and charbar. If this doesn’t spark an appetite, we don’t know what will.
