June is always a busy one. With all the end of the year activities layered with warmer temperatures, turning on the stove is one the last things busy mamas want to do. Italian restaurants are ideal for satisfying kid-friendly fare, and we’re thrilled PZA Parlour has set up shop at Southland Crossing.
The atmosphere in this authentic Italian resto is bright and modern, and it’s buzzy enough that tantrums are unlikely to be noticed by other diners. Phew! Another bonus: retro black and white Italian films played on several screens distract youngsters waiting for their meal.
What to eat? There’s a wonderful homemade gnocchi floating in a creamy pesto sauce. Calamari dipped in marinara sauce is a hit, and we loved the salsiccia, thick slices of fennel-infused roasted sausage. Pizza and hockey fans will want to try the Jonny G, a meat lover’s extravaganza well loved by Calgary Flames’ Johnny Gaudreau, who frequents sister restaurant Villa Firenze in Bridgeland. And yes, they’re sporting a children’s menu, too.
Save room for dessert, as you’ll swoon over the limoncello cream puff and the warm, house-made donuts drizzled with Nutella. Too busy to sit down? Order takeaway—delivery is in the works and should be offered in the near future.
With high chairs, a baby change station and a kid’s menu, is there anything our new favourite restaurant doesn’t have?
