When I first started creating parties for publication, I wanted to use some of the adorable items’striped straws, baker’s twine, kraft bags’I was spotting on Pinterest and other blogs. The problem was, I couldn’t find the pieces in the stores I was shopping at.
I’m happy to say that in the past few months I’ve seen colourful paper straws popping up in a few ordinary stores, and specialty party supplies are slowly becoming more readily available.
Having said that, I have found a few excellent online Canadian retailers who sell the items I’ve been coveting. I’ve ordered from all of them but one, and have experienced excellent pricing, quick shipping and perfect customer service. Now, when I need to add a few items to my party closet, I typically start with these stores before I head out shopping.
Here are six of my favourite websites to visit:
Omiyage: Pretty packaging, such as cute paper bags, tags, twine and striped straws.
The Penny Paper Co.: Handmade invitations and other necessities, like ribbon, kraft bags, labels, stamps, bakery bags, etc.
The Party Monkey: Themed party supplies, pinatas, decorations and more.
Etsy: Everything from banners and bunting to printable decorations, templates, tassels and more.
Greenmunch: Eco-friendly and sustainable items for everyday’including parties. They stock an excellent collection of baker’s twine, washi tape and reusable dinnerware.
The Paper Place: Tissue, twine, patterned paper and paper balloons.
