You’ll Need
- Assorted patterned paper
- 1” circle punch
- Small hole punch
- Baker’s or kitchen twine
- Striped straws or wooden skewers
How to Make
- Cut enough circles from the paper to make two rows of garland. For an 8” round cake, you’ll need 7 circles for the top row and 6 for the bottom row.
- Punch two small holes in the top of each circle and thread the twine through the holes of each piece of paper.
- Space the circles out evenly, or press them tightly together, and tie a knot in the twine at both ends to hold the first and last circle in place.
- Snip off the twine leaving at least 4” at each end for hanging. Attach the ends to striped straws or wooden skewers and insert into the cake on an angle.
