Ottawa, Easter weekend is coming up which means a variety of activities, celebrations, and events will be taking place all around the city (and the kids will be off of school on Friday and Monday of that long weekend). With Easter falling later in April this year, there is always the chance for some nice weather and bonus opportunities to head outdoors too!
Here are some Ottawa Easter Weekend events and fun activities to add to your family calendar:

Cumberland
Hop into Spring at the Cumberland Heritage Village Museum on Saturday, April 16th from 10 am until 4 pm. Their very popular Easter event is returning this year with some modifications continuing because of pandemic restrictions. You’ll need to book your family’s time slot for admission in advance. The event takes place indoors and outdoors and will happen in rain or shine. Work your way through the hay bale labyrinth, dye eggs with natural dyes, watch a cooking demonstration, and enjoy the entertainment from Junkyard Symphony. Tickets are $25 per group (with a maximum of 6 people per group).
Get Easter photos for your family pet
Bring your furry friend on April 16th for a photo with the Easter Bunny! CocoMutts in Stittsville is hosting a special Easter photo session for your beloved family pet! Registration is required in advance (call the store to book directly at 613-831-1828) and you’ll be able to select the photo print or gift you want to order. Your entire family will cherish these memories!
Visit the Farm
The Canada Agriculture and Food Museum is welcoming visitors for the Ottawa Easter weekend (including Easter Monday) for special activities like making bunny crafts, demonstrations about how chocolate is made (with a cookie to taste test), comparing eggs at the Egg Station and of course seeing all of the farm animals. Your museum admission includes these events. Do you prefer to participate from home? The Museum offers online programming for Easter with recipes, crafts and experiments on their website.

Visit another farm!
The Log Farm is hosting their Easter on the Farm event between Friday, April 15th until Monday, April 18th. Tickets are available in two-hour time slots (9 am – 11 am, 11:30 am – 1:30 pm and 2 pm until 4 pm) and must be purchased in advance. Kids will love seeing the farm animals (including bunnies), participating in an Easter egg hunt and exploring the children’s play areas and all of the space on the farm! Your children are encouraged to bring their own basket for collecting the colourful Easter eggs they will hunt for along the forest walking trail. The eggs, no matter how many are collected, are exchanged for a treat after the hunt.
Go on an Easter Egg Hunt
In Perth, participate in an Easter Egg Hunt! Perth Tourism is hosting an egg hunt for children ages 8 and younger. Bring your own basket and plan to be at Stewart Park (behind the bandshell) on Saturday, April 16th at 11 am sharp (apparently the hunt begins and ends very quickly!). This event will happen rain or shine. There will also be a fire truck, music, balloon artist (from 10:30 until noon) and more!
