Thyme for Cover

We love spring and melted snow, but it does reveal the ugly truth—that our lawns and gardens need some TLC. Badly. That’s when we look for help from Ottawa’s newest online nursery, Thyme For Cover.

Whether you’re a seasoned green thumb who’s looking for indigenous plants at good prices, or you just want someone to recommend and deliver some green stuff, Thyme for Cover has you, well, covered. First, have a look around your muddy spring property (if you can stand it) and figure out what you need. If you’re not sure, drop the experts an email and they’ll be happy to recommend a variety of easy-care plants that fit your soil and sun types. Then, send in your wish list via email or by phone. The nursery will confirm availability and book a delivery time. Pre-pay the delivery fee online, then wait for beautiful, green, naturally-grown plants to arrive right in your driveway. You only need to keep plants that you agree are top quality.

We’re excited to try some of their locally-grown varieties, including a wide range of grape vines and heirloom tomatoes, fresh herb plants, figs (fun!), and raspberry canes (oh so yummy). You can feel good about the sustainable, chemical-free techniques used when cultivating these garden favourites, while your kids will be delighted to reap their own little harvest. There’s limited stock of these specialities, so get your order in as soon as possible (plants can be cared for indoors until we hit the frost-safe mark of the May long weekend).

Nurse your green thumb this spring. We’ve got 12 Nurseries and Garden Centres in Ottawa to get you started.
