It’s spring in the capital, and that means summer’s not far off. Time to start finalizing summer camps for the kids. No matter what your kids’ interests, there’s a camp that’s perfect for them. Here’s our roundup of the top summer camps in Ottawa.
One of the most diverse camp programs in Ottawa is offered at Dovercourt. More than just a pool, this recreation center in Westboro offers an incredible variety of programs in specialities for all kinds of sports and adventures, visual and culinary arts, and science and technology. There is also ‘The Rescue Academy’ for those little ones who can’t get enough of fire trucks and police cars. With programs for all ages—from preschoolers to teenagers—Dovercourt truly has something for everyone. To round out the experience, all sessions also include familiar camp games and activities, as well as time in the pool.
When your campers get a little older, they can also try their hand at leadership. For kids ages 13–17 there are leaders-in-training and counselors-in-training programs, as well as volunteer opportunities.
A weekly newsletter keeps campers and parents informed. Extended hours and a lunch program are available for an extra fee. Not sure where to start? Check out the program guide and parent handbook on the website or pay them a visit on Camp Day, June 6th, to learn more.
This is just one of the many camps across the city. See the rest of our top picks here.
