Remember when mixing orange and grape soda seemed like a grand idea?
Kids love mixing their own concoctions, and now you can let your kids’ imaginations run wild and let them live out their mix-a-lot dreams—at LaViolette Chocolatier.
LaViolette is a bright red counter located right inside the Sugar Mountain on Elgin Street. The idea is this: gather up some Sugar Mountain candy—any blend you like—then the LaViolette team will mush and smush your candy selection into your very own pressed chocolate bar, using white, milk or dark chocolate. How about a bar with cherry licorice, sour jujubes, and gummy bears? Hot lips, zingy zaps, and candy corn? Lime jelly beans, chocolate rocks, and silver cola balls? If you can dream it—and dare to try it—you can make it in just 10 minutes.
If you’re not the creative type, let LaViolette do the inventing for you. We were daring enough to try their Doritos milk chocolate bar and were rewarded with a surprisingly addictive mixture of salty, sweet, crunchy and oh-so-good. For the truly Canadian, there’s chocolate covered bacon on hand.
It’s a creativity face-off—and everyone gets a tasty prize at the end.
Sugar and spice and everything nice—we’ve got 11 more Spots for Sweet Treats in Ottawa.
