Apples make a beautiful addition to your Thanksgiving get-together, whether in the food, drinks, activities or décor—or all of the above! You can also celebrate the changing leaves and crisp fall days with an apple-inspired party that’s simple to put together. Invite family and friends to a local orchard for some apple picking, then head home for a seasonal feast that’s sure to tickle the taste buds of all your guests.
The Food
Anything with added apple will suit the theme of the party, but we’re partial to these make-ahead ideas:
- Pulled Pork Sandwiches topped with Apple Slaw. For small guests, serve this sandwich on slider buns.
- Apple Pie on a Stick. Everyone loves apple pie so why not give each guest their own?
- Pumpkin and Apple Soup. Serving in shot glasses or mini disposable cups allows guests to sip on their soup while mingling and chatting.
- Apple Caramel Cups. This sweet treat is the perfect four-bite finish to any fall meal.
The Drinks
Warm apple cider is the drink of choice for this type of gathering, but apple juice and hard cider are also welcome additions. For a little extra adult fun, set up a hard cider-tasting bar, so guests can sample different varieties and flavours.
The Activities
Plan a little extra fun for the kids (and adults!) by organizing sack races and bobbing for apples. We also love candy and caramel apples at this time of year, and think setting up a make-your-own station will make you a hit with your family and friends.
Décor
Keep things simple and use any one of these five ideas for decorating with apples to help spruce up your space before you party.
