I like music more than I like TV, so when you come to our house you’re more likely to hear the soulful sounds of Adele than the chatter of television talk show hosts. This love for music also means that in addition to listening to songs, I adore creating playlists.
I have a playlist for my annual Canada Day party and Thanksgiving dinner, not to mention one for working, cleaning, cooking, and studying for exams (all instrumental that my teens really love). Naturally we have several for the winter holiday season, and my favourite playlists of all time are the ones we make for our annual road trips. We label them and keep them in a box, and it’s so much fun to periodically pull them out to see what we listened to when we, say, drove to Lake Placid in 2008.
Here’s a look at our Halloween playlist, which we refer to as Halloween’s ‘Gravest’ Hits. We play this set of songs in the weeks leading up to Halloween, while we’re cooking and eating dinner, making costumes, or prepping the food for school parties. I hope you enjoy it!
