These gorgeous golden scones, flecked with dried cranberries, orange zest and seasonal spices, come together quickly and effortlessly and make a perfect breakfast for Christmas morning.
They can be baked a day in advance and reheated just before serving, or shaped, cut and then stored in the freezer until needed. Essentially they are the make-ahead breakfast you’ll be in need of at some point during the hectic holiday season.
I like the idea of serving them with a fresh fruit salad made of sliced clementines, ruby red grapefruit, and pomegranate seeds for a colourful breakfast that will come together in the time it takes to make a pot of coffee.
Do you have a traditional holiday breakfast? What does your family like to eat on Christmas morning?
