Club Square is Ottawa’s Hottest Destination for Kids

ClubSquare

Club Square, the ‘edutainment’ facility in Ottawa’s West End, has everything we think kids (and parents) will love. With exciting hands-on learning classes about topics that appeal to kids of many ages, a lounge area with free wifi and a cafe that is perfect for mom and dad to grab a latte or for the kids to indulge in a treat, Club Square is one of Ottawa’s hottest destination for kids.

There’s a lot that helps Club Square stand out from other centres for kids. To begin, the 14,000 square feet of space makes it feel more like a campus or a mini kids university. Their courses and workshops are built around exciting, educational and fun topics with a heavy STEM focus such as gaming and coding, visual arts, cooking, and brick building. Take note for next summer: with a dedicated space for each of these learning areas, we think the summer camps at Club Square will be a hit.

We know kids will love the artistic challenges at The Hive Art Studio, the coding and gaming found in the Levels Camp, the discovery into the world of science at the Nutty Science Camp, creating and tasting their cooking creations at the Young Chefs Academy and the LEGO building they can do at the Bricks 4 Kidz® Camps.

Not only do we love the opportunity for our kids to learn more about their favourite past times, but we think a major highlight of the summer camps is also the flexibility. Families can enroll their children (aged 5-13) into more than one camp course. Camps are offered as a half day program, however, kids can be registered for two half day programs for the week to create a full day. If your child wants to spend the week learning about art in the morning, and then gaming in the afternoon, that can be arranged! Or maybe they prefer to get some science experimenting done in the morning before heading into the kitchen to experiment with recipes in the afternoon? The beauty of the Club Square program is that the options are flexible. Lunch is provided for full day campers at an additional cost.

In addition to the full day and half day programs being offered, families can walk-in and sign up for a half or full day of camp as a one-day option instead of a full week. Depending on schedules, this may appeal to families who are travelling or have other childcare arrangements. Plus, parents can stay in the lounge if they like and connect to the free wifi to get some work done.

Club Square will also offer curriculum-based programming in the fall that will extend over a period of many months. If your child’s interest in cooking or coding continues, a once-a-week program at the Club Square facility may be the perfect activity for them.

Learning new skills and having fun while you’re at it just got a lot cooler in Ottawa.
