The warmth from the sun, the longer days and the green grass are all signs that it’s finally summer in Calgary (don’t let the odd snow squall fool you). With all the parks and gardens to explore throughout the city, there must be one you haven’t visited yet.
Here’s a list of our favourites—perhaps you’ll consider one as a picnic destination this weekend with big Daddy.
Carburn Park, located by Riverbend on the East Bank of the Bow River, offers stroller-friendly pathways that wind their way around several ponds beside the Bow River. It’s the perfect spot to watch baby ducks and geese float by and there’s a fun playground for the little ones to burn off their endless energy as well as a seasonal washroom. You might be interested in checking out MEC Paddlefest, being held in June.
