Get to the Market

The Calgary Farmers’ Market is back. So take a trip to the Blackfoot Trail location and check out the vendors and sprawling digs.
The renovation of the once-upon-a-time antique mall was completed last spring. The building is safe and (dare we say) fabulous on the inside, and filled with lots of great vendors.

In 2011, the space grew by 15,000 square feet and now includes a food court with seating for 200 complete with vaulted ceilings, skylights and doors to one of two outdoor patios.

The market has also constructed a down-on-the-farm-themed play area. There’s no age and height limit set, but at first glance we’d say six and under.

Look for new vendors in the market (and on their website), including food court stalls like Silver Sage Burgers serving primarily grass-fed, free-range beef (no feedlot, synthetic hormones or therapeutic antibiotics), Los Chilitos Tacqueria and Fratello Coffee Roasters’ first retail location.
