Our kids have got energy reserves we can only dream of. Some days, it seems they could run around for hours—hard to do in the middle of winter when the playgrounds are under snow and it’s dark before dinner. Enter the indoor playground, otherwise know as our sanity saver when the kids need to burn off some serious stream.
Calgary Farmers’ Market
Next time you’re at the market (it’s open year round, Thursdays through Sundays), reward the kids for their good behaviour and swing by the farm-themed play area. There are bridges, slides, steps, a large climber, foam blocks, and a toddler area.
Hop, Sip & Jump
Best suited for climbers age seven and under, this cafe and indoor playground has a two-story climbing structure, toddler area, and lots of tunnels and bridges to explore. There’s ample seating with good views of the play area for us, and the café serves up a decent cup: locally roasted coffee by Fratello Coffee Roasters.
Coffee and S’cream
Coffee and S’cream is one of the originals. It’s located in the central NW and the toys, ride-ons and small climbing structures are suited to young children. The small space offers good visibility and there’s a coffee bar on site.
That’s just the tip of the jungle gym. We’ve got 11 more indoor play places picked out for you. See them here.
