We love any excuse to go shopping, but when a major retailer like Nordstrom moves into town, it’s just plain rude not to welcome them. We made sure we were among the first to check it out. Here’s what we liked.
If you’re kitting out kids from babes to tots to teens, this is one shopping destination your brood won’t mind tagging along to. Besides a colouring centre and a wooden playhouse filled with books and toys, there are interactive screens and a virtual fish tank to mesmerize wee ones while you browse. The children’s department is also conveniently located next to the bistro Bazille. Not only is it fully licensed, there’s a kid’s menu, crayons and an activity sheet.
The upscale department store carries exclusive lines like Peek and Mini Bodem, but it’s their shoe department that really wowed us. When your child first learns to walk, bring them in and they’ll receive a plush Nordy doll. All kids take home a helium balloon with their new shoes, and they even host free shoe tying lessons every third Saturday of the month. Yes, we said that.
Shop till you drop, or until your kids can tie their shoes. That’s our style.
We’re always in favour of efficiency—so let the shopping come to you and check out our 7 Mobile Services in Calgary.
