We love our TRX, spin, barre and HIT classes, but it’s a serious hassle holding cards at different studios across the city. Offering a myriad of specialty classes, we’re thrilled to get fit at Fit Republic.
Conveniently located in Bridgeland, the space is light and bright with large windows and glass walls. The dedicated spin studio is decked out with Schwinn bikes and cycling shoes are offered at no extra charge. But don’t expect your basic ride to music—cyclists bike to fabulous destinations via video monitors or spin to music videos. Anything to take our minds off the grind is A-OK in our books.
The second studio space offers everything from boxing to barre, rowing and anti-gravity classes. Nothing gets post-baby bellies back in shape quite like their Pilates-inspired ab exercises, and let us tell you, we worked our buns off.
But our absolute favourite has got to be the anti-gravity classes, aka hammock yoga. This is Calgary’s only licensed anti-gravity studio, where you can hang upside down or swing like you’re on a trapeze. It’s ideal for moms with back issues or tight hip flexors. We walked out of our introductory class a full inch taller—literally! Besides yoga, there are anti-gravity fitness and barre classes, too.
Getting fit never felt so fun.
