The best things about Robert Munsch books are the vivid illustrations, energetic storylines, and infectious energy, and Boo is no exception. Boo is the story of Lance, a young trick-or-treater who paints his face for Halloween. But he makes it very scary and scares off everyone he meets! Munsch was inspired to write the book after meeting a real-life Lance at Lloyd George Public School in Hamilton, Ontario in 1991, and it’s been entertaining young trick-or-treaters ever since. It’s perfect to read to the kids to get into the Halloween spirit (not that they usually need much help). ($7.99, available at Indigo.ca)
