My plan for today is to make my menus for the various holiday events I’m hosting and/or attending in the next ten days. I’ve committed to making several different dishes, and to be perfectly honest I may have offered to do more than my available time will allow.
Should you find yourself in a similar situation, or simply need some inspiration for your holiday meals, here are a few excellent recipes designed to help you through the coming week. Each of these is simple, most can be made ahead of time, and all will delight in finding any of these dishes on their holiday celebration table.
For a Weekend Open House or Cocktail Party:
- Pomegranate and Prosecco Punch
- Cheesy Holiday Tree
- Maple and Citrus-Glazed Ham (serve with biscuits and/or buns, assorted mustards and chutneys)
- Turkey and Mashed Potato Cupcakes (make mini versions and pass around as hot hors d’oeuvres)
- Milk and Cookie Mocktails
- Double Chocolate Candy Cane Bark
For a Sweet Finish:
- S’mores Fudge
- Chocolate Dipped Clementines with Pistachio Sprinkles
- Vanilla and Cinnamon Poached Pears
- Jam Thumbprint Cookies
For a Main Holiday Meal:
