I hate to admit it, because I know I’m in the minority, but I feel like this winter is flying by. I can hardly believe that we’re already facing February, and when I think about March Break, which is a mere five weeks away, I’m reassured that this cold season will be over before we know it.
For those who feel it’s dragging along though, here’s what I suggest: throw a party! It could be a big family snow day party, complete with sledding, skating, skiing or even a simple backyard snowball fight. Alternatively, invite some adults over for a casual night in with board games and/or movies.
We have several recipes designed for cold-weather entertaining. They are simple, seasonal, and in most cases can be made in advance, leaving you plenty of time to enjoy your guests. I can’t think of a better way to make the most of this long, cold season; sharing several plates of tasty food with your friends and family is certain to warm your heart, and will make these harsh weekends just a little more fun and memorable.
