The SavvyMom Team
Natalie Locke Milne, Vice President of Content, has successfully led the growth and advancement of some of Canada’s largest lifestyle websites, including Todaysparent.com and Canadianparents.com and is the founding editor of BabyPost.com. She is the mom of two girls—unofficial members of our team—who happily test any toy or gadget mom brings home.
Corinne McDermott, Managing Editor, is a multi-platform producer, writer, editor, strategist, content creator, and team leader with extensive professional and entrepreneurial experience in broadcast, digital, print, and every conceivable combination of screen-based media. In 2007 she founded Have Baby Will Travel, a website with a mission to inspire, motivate, and help families travel with babies, toddlers, and young children. She’s a lifelong Torontonian who is raising two Torontonians, Megs and Riley, with her Albertan husband, Darcy (also technically now a Torontonian).
Leslie McCormick, Director of Client Services, has been a part of the SavvyMom team since 2009 and has been actively organizing people and campaigns ever since. Prior to working in digital media, she spent five years in television production where she mastered the art of keeping track of many different projects at one time, a skill that comes in handy as the mom of twin daughters.
Rebecca Eckler, Executive Editor, is a journalist, columnist, blogger and best-selling author of nine books; three on parenting, including Knocked Up!, Wiped, and Toddlers Gone Wild. Her latest book is The Mommy Mob: Inside the Outrageous World of Mommy Bloggers. She lives in Toronto with her 12-year old daughter, Rowan, and her five-year-old son, Holt. She loves eating in bed, watermelon, Chelsea Handler, and The Big Bang Theory. And, of course, her children.
Kevin Bartus, CEO, is one of Toronto’s original digital entrepreneurs. His first digital venture, Blue Spark, was one of the most successful digital agencies during the first dot-com boom, with clients including Rogers Media, Torstar, CBC, TVO, and The Score. Blue Spark was founded in 1998 and sold to OnX (a publicly-traded technology services company) in 2005. From 2006 to 2008, Kevin was the original VP of Digital Media for Rogers Media, where he formed the initial team of 150 people and doubled revenues from $23M to $50M, reporting directly to the CEO. Kevin founded Ideon Media in 2009 and Maple Media a year later. Kevin’s background includes consulting positions at BCG and Accenture, an MBA from Harvard and undergraduate and graduate degrees from MIT. He’s the father of two teenage boys.
