Wild Play at Southcentre

Is it possible to for a mall visit to become easier and wilder at the same time? It is at Southcentre, where an animal-themed indoor playground has just opened. ROAR Play Park keeps children ages one to 10 happily occupied with its interactive zones and climb-on creatures. Located just next to Sport Chek on the lower level, it’s bound to become the place you use to reward the kids for their cooperation while you get your shopping done.

ROAR has a crawl-through tunnel and slide, iPad stations and interactive educational panels. This colourful space boasts a spongy rubber floor should your tot take a tumble and plenty of cushy sitting areas for mama to breastfeed. Good to know: The mall also has two nursing rooms, one at each main washroom—both have bottle warmers and baby supplies.

You’ll find plenty of room for stroller parking throughout Southcentre, and in case you didn’t bring yours, ‘First Responder’ themed strollers are available for rent. Need to get things done without the tykes in tow? Take advantage of the child-minding services offered by GreenDoor Stay & Play in the mall’s professional wing.

Southcentre also has year-round coat and parcel check. And for the under-five set, the Lil Shoppers Kids Club offers seasonal crafts, kids’ yoga and more in the mall’s Centre Court the second Wednesday of each month. Now we have no excuse to avoid the mall.

Looking for more ways to let them tumble and roll? We’ve got 7 more Indoor Playgrounds in Calgary to keep them busy.
