It’s the ultimate Valentine’s Day date’with your preschooler. Treat your little sweetheart to a mommy-and-me day out at one of Calgary’s indoor playgrounds.
There are several jump, climb and play hot spots to choose from within the city limits, and we thought mid-winter (yes we are only halfway through) would be a good time to round them up.
Stir Crazy Family Fun Centre in the NE is a 50’s inspired indoor playground complete with cupcake bar, sweet-tooth playground and toddler area. Admission is $8.99 for kids three and under and $10.99 for kids over four.
Coffee and S’cream is one of the originals. It’s located in the central NW and the toys, ride-ons and small climbing structures are suited to young children. The small space offers good visibility and there’s a coffee bar on site. Admission is only $6.65 per child.
Joso’s Play and Learn Centre is also located in the north end of the city, and caters to young children. We really like the two-storey climbing gym and so will your kids. Admission is $6.99 for the first child and $4.99 for additional children.
Tommy K Play is located in the deep SE and is similar to Stir Crazy. It has a large play structure that kids of all ages will enjoy. There are cool add-ons at this indoor wonderland, including a laser maze and roller race track. Admission is $8.95 for children four and under and $12.95 for five and up.
Finally, the Telus World of Science is much more than an indoor playground. The Creative Kids Museum will keep your kids moving up the climbing wall, around the balloon trees and down the infant crawling track. Admission is $12.95 (for ages 3 to 12) and free for children under three.
So take a day to play with your little sweeties. They’ll be worn out by bedtime’so you can spend time with your adult valentine.
