3 Fun Summer Birthday Party Themes for Toddlers

Make your toddler’s next birthday party extra special by choosing a unique theme for their summer celebration. Each of our ideas is easy to execute, and will only require items that are available in abundance this time of year.

Beach Ball Party: Keep the party simple and seasonal by using beach balls as inspiration for this theme. The vibrant primary colours are perfect for tiny partygoers because they are so fun and recognizable. To decorate, simply cover tables with striped tablecloths, hang mini beach balls from a length of twine to make a customizable garland, and use beach pails to serve food party snacks (to keep on theme think of colourful options like fruit, fish crackers, and candy) from. Large blow-up beach balls are inexpensive and practical and make the perfect loot bag gift.

Popsicle Party: The summer months are hot and no party will be more welcome or refreshing than a popsicle-themed birthday party. For decorations, I would keep things simple and cover the largest blank canvas (inside wall, side of house, or garage) available with this amazingly easy pool noodle Popsicle garland. Use any colour combination that you like and carry it through the remainder of your decorations (simple plastic table cloths, paper plates and napkins, etc.). For melt-free menu options skewer watermelon wedges onto popsicle sticks and cut brownies into rectangles, dipping a short end into melted coloured chocolate before covering in sprinkles. Add a skewer or stick and voila… a cakey popsicle. Round out the rest of the offerings by serving savoury food on sticks and fill a cooler with ice and assorted popsicles for easy access. P.S. For the adults in attendance, don’t forget to offer one of our Prosecco Popsicle cocktails for a cool and refreshing beverage.

Bubble Party: A toddler bubble bash is just thing to keep a pack of two-year-olds entertained for hours. The set up is easy: use circles in all of the décor (paper lanterns, balloons, etc.) and tabletop items (plates, napkins, cups, tablecloths, etc.), and choose colours you can see within the bubbles when the sun hits them when high in the air (pastels, glitters, etc.). Make bubbly drinks with juice and sparkling water, and serve circular foods (meatballs, donut holes, blueberries, grapes, cherry tomatoes, etc.) to keep the menu simple and themed. After that, the party planning is easy: set up bubble stations around your yard (or local park) and let the kids have fun blowing their way to birthday party success.
