Kids love being entertained and parents love getting out of the house. Right?
That’s why local sporting events are a great idea for a fall family outing.
Skip the downtown traffic, pay a fraction of the game price at Rogers Arena, and head to UBC to watch your favourite Thunderbird team in action. Choose from T-Birds football, hockey, basketball and volleyball, and watch an entertaining game with highly competitive male and female athletes (who may be among the next up-and-coming professional superstars) in a fan-friendly atmosphere (read: kids can make noise and you can afford the tickets).
Your girls may find inspiration in watching one of the women’s hockey, basketball and volleyball teams, too. Add in the brand new $20 family pass (which includes admission for up to five family members) and the deal gets even better. As a bonus, Saturday, October 29 is the last regular season home football game (2 pm against University of Calgary), and the T-Birds are putting on a great Halloween celebration for families who attend. Children under 12 are encouraged to come in costume and participate in a half-time parade across the field. They’ll get to meet Thunder the mascot, take home a loot bag and lots of other fun giveaways.
Good to Know: Men’s and women’s basketball, hockey and volleyball seasons are just getting started, and birthday party packages are also available.
