Spring Break is truly one of those mixed blessings—it’s a refreshing break from the routine of programs and school, and yet, such a terrifying break from the routine of programs and school! What will we do if it rains for two straight weeks? (Here? Nahhhhh…) Not to worry. We have spotted a few events that will take you miles away, without ever leaving the GVA.
There’s no better place to journey this Spring Break than the small island of Neverland. The Royal Winnipeg Ballet is bringing its highly acclaimed Peter Pan in a spray of pixie dust to Vancouver’s Queen’s Elizabeth Theatre on March 20, 21 and 22. Prime your crowd to get ready to believe in fairies. There’s a nail-biter of a sword fight between the swarthy Captain Hook and the eternally boyish Peter, Tic Toc the Crocodile hunting after Tiger Lily, an airborne Darling family sail through the starlit night to Neverland and, of course, a spunky, short-tempered Tinker Bell with a b-a-a-a-a-d attitude. Action, adventure, love, fairies, and pirates—even your little Lost Boy will forget that he’s watching ballet.
