It’s no secret that women in the workforce are having a tough time right now. As children go back to school, moms are juggling more than ever, while facing difficult decisions around work and business. It’s no wonder we’re all striving for that elusive work-life balance.
Luckily, for the many of us who have always wanted to start our own businesses but thought we could use a little help, the second-annual Canada’s Total Mom Pitch is back and has expanded across Canada.
What Is It?
This is the only, first, and largest pitch competition for Canadian mom entrepreneurs to pitch and secure a grand prize for their business idea that includes cash and professional services.
Participating in the pitch allows businesses to not only gain exposure and network together but also to get access to non-repayable funding and in-kind business services to advance their business. If you end up as one of the lucky finalists, the program will offer private mentorship with some of Canada’s hottest incubators and business development programs, coaches and experts on business support, digital marketing, funding, and legal, as you get prepared for the finale.
The finale will be hosted later in March, where five finalists will compete for the grand prize of $10,000 in non-repayable cash for their business and $20,000 in essential business support. Additionally, the top five will receive a membership with The Canadian Women’s Chamber of Commerce, and the Women’s Executive Network.
How Do I Participate?
You can start by applying here. Applications are open from now until November 12, 2020. Semi-finalists are announced on November 20, 2020, and public voting is open from November 20 to December 2, 2020, with finalists being announced on December 11.
