Barrhaven Santa Claus Parade
Sunday, November 17
Barrhaven families and those in the surrounding areas are already getting ready for one of the first Santa Claus parades in the area. There will be floats and vendors aplenty on the parade route, which starts at Beatrice Drive and runs down Strandherd Drive. This year, spectators are asked to bring a loonie for donation to one of the local charities. The parade will begin around 5:30 pm.
Help Santa Toy Parade
Saturday, November 16
This parade which starts at 11 am, has been taking place for 50 years and is organized by the Ottawa Professional Fire Fighter’s Association. The route begins at City Hall and ends at TD Place at Lansdowne. Don’t forget to bring a new unwrapped toy, which firefighters will be collecting along with cash donations. Spectators can expect jugglers, bands, singing, and dancing.
Kanata Santa Claus Parade
Saturday, November 16
Kanata, get ready for this annual event that begins at 10 am. You’ll love being able to join Santa at the Hazeldean Mall after the parade! Don’t forget to pick up your non-perishable food item before you head out, because Kanata Food Cupboard will be in the parade collecting.
Manotick Olde Fashioned Christmas Parade
Saturday, November 30
The parade runs Saturday on Main street, but that’s only a fraction of what’s going on this festive weekend. The entire town is decking their halls up for an Olde Fashioned Christmas weekend. Across two days there will be horse-drawn wagons, carolers, craft markets as well as hot chocolate and tasty bites along the way. The village is transformed with traditional decorations, wreaths hung on lampposts and trees lit up. Plus, of course, the parade!
Orlean’s Santa’s Parade of Lights
Saturday, November 30
The Ottawa Professional Firefighter’s Association Services have organized another Ottawa based toy-drive, in the form of Santa’s Parade of Lights in Orleans. Local organizations and businesses will be decorating floats leading up to the big finale with Santa himself. Bring along a toy for donation or if you forget, cash contributions are equally welcome. The fun gets going at 6 pm from St Joseph Blvd, and there will be trophy awards for the best floats.
Brockville Santa Claus Parade
Saturday, November 30
Once again, the parade is moving to the evening with a theme of ‘A Dickens of a Christmas’. It all gets started at 5 pm. There will be floats, bands, horses and of course, Santa himself. You don’t want to miss these magical floats!
Stittsville Parade of Lights
Saturday, November 30
Stittsville’s Parade of Lights will be on November 30 at 6 pm where dozens of floats will be decorated in the spirit of the season with Santa arriving at the end. Spectators are asked to consider a donation to the Stittsville Village association during the parade to help with future events. Everyone is also encouraged to stay for the lighting ceremony where you can warm up with some hot chocolate.
Carp Christmas Parade
Saturday, December 14
The Huntley Community Association will be hosting the 11th annual Christmas Parade. The fun starts at 12 pm at the Diefenbunker and finishes at the Diefenbunker. Line up on the parade route to catch a glimpse at all the floats!
